Eaton Electronics Supercapacitors are ultra-high capacitance devices utilizing electric double-layer capacitor (EDLC) construction. Combined with high-performance materials, this construction allows Eaton Electronics to provide various capacitor solutions specifically tailored to applications ranging from a few microamps to hundreds of amps.

5G Applications

Eaton Electronics offers an expansive portfolio of high-reliability components needed to drive 5G forward. Because 5G telecommunication units are typically placed in rugged environments, continuous uptime requirements for their operation and the reliability of the internal electronics are of great importance. A variety of components, often passives, can be readily added in key locations within 5G communications systems to enhance reliability and mitigate subcircuits susceptible to electrostatic discharge (ESD), electromagnetic interference (EMI), and electromagnetic pulse (EMP). Eaton 5G products can withstand harsh environments while delivering high performance.

High-Power Supercapacitors

Eaton Electronics High-Power Supercapacitors are high-reliability and ultra-high capacitance energy storage devices utilizing proprietary materials and processes. These supercapacitors feature low ESR, long life cycle, and low self-discharge. The high-power supercapacitors can be used as sole energy storage or with batteries to optimize cost, lifetime, and run time. These supercapacitors are UL-recognized and are maintenance-free. The high-power supercapacitors are ideal for backup power, electronics communications, electric vehicles, and IoT nodes.

Capacitors

Eaton Electronics Capacitors are a main component in electronic systems for storing and releasing electrical energy within a circuit. These two-terminal passive components feature two conductive plates separated by an insulating dielectric material. The application of voltage across the terminals creates an electric field, accumulating positive and negative charges on the plates. Eaton Electronics offers a diverse selection of capacitor technologies, encompassing supercapacitors and film capacitors. The film capacitors are known for their stability and minimal tolerance. Eaton Coin Cell Supercapacitors feature a high capacitance capability utilizing an electric double-layer capacitor (EDLC) construction. The capacitors offer low ESR for high power density with eco-friendly materials, which allows for a long cycle lifespan. The Eaton Coin Cell Supercapacitors are ideal for various applications, including utility meters, network switches/routers, motor control units, HVAC controls, Real-Time Clocks (RTCs), solar inverters, and more. All Coin Cell capacitors are lead-free and RoHS-compliant.

KR Coin Cell Super Caps

Eaton Electronics KR Coin Cell Supercapacitors are advanced technology, ultra-high capacitance devices utilizing EDLC construction. This construction is combined with high-performance materials to offer solutions for applications that range from a few micro-amps for several days to several amps for milliseconds. The KR Coin Cell Super Capacitors are available in a wide range of styles for use in memory and RTC backup applications as well as in consumer electronics.

Battery Management Systems

Eaton provides a wide portfolio of products for Battery Management Systems (BMS), including terminal blocks, fuses, supercapacitors, chokes, inductors, and more. Battery Management Systems monitor individual cells, system voltage, current, and temperature. When monitoring individual cells, the BMS balances voltages and regulates the current flow, and if the upper or lower voltage, current, or temperature limit is exceeded, the BMS temporarily disconnects the load or source. Eaton Battery Management Systems estimate the State of Health (SoH), State of Charge (SoC), State of Energy (SoE), and State of Power (SoP) in batteries.

PowerStor® Supercapacitors

Eaton Electronics Supercapacitors provide high capacitance in smaller sizes and the lowest ESR values. Other features include high industrial temperature ranges, outstanding aging characteristics, high efficiency over the full product life, and a demonstrated operating life that exceeds 20 years. These capacitors also provide maximum energy savings and reduced running costs and eliminate the need for routine maintenance. PowerStor / Eaton Supercapacitors are used in alternate energy (solar and wind), medical (X-rays), computer (RAID storage and UPS), and industrial (elevators, forklifts, electric vehicles). They are available in cylindrical (HB, HV, and TV), snap-in cylindrical (XB,XV), and leaded cylindrical (PHB, PHV) types.
