Littelfuse Indoor LED Lighting Circuit Protection ensures a long operating life, increased energy efficiency, and safety. LEDs can be damaged by voltage or current surges, and by extreme temperatures. Littelfuse circuit protection technology protects LED assemblies from potential damage. Important circuit protection technologies include metal-oxide varistors (MOVs), transient voltage suppression (TVS) diodes, and fuses.

MHP Metal Hybrid PPTC Devices

Littelfuse MHP Metal Hybrid PPTC Devices are cost-effective, resettable circuit protection devices capable of 9VDC or 12VDC contact ratings, which helps to meet the battery safety requirements of higher-capacity lithium (ion) polymer and prismatic batteries. By connecting a bimetal protector parallel with a polymeric positive temperature coefficient (PPTC) device, the resulting Metal Hybrid PPTC Device offers resettable overcurrent protection. At the same time, the low resistance of the PPTC device prevents arcing of the bimetal protector at higher currents. Littelfuse MHP Metal Hybrid PPTC Devices are ideally suited for applications such as cordless battery tools, E-bikes, back-up uninterruptable power supplies (UPS), and back-up power for medical devices.

MHP-TAM Metal Hybrid PPTC Devices

Littelfuse MHP-TAM Metal Hybrid PPTC Devices are based on Littelfuse Circuit Protection's MHP (Metal Hybrid PPTC) technology and designed for applications with lower voltage and current ratings than previous series. The ultra-compact MHP-TAM series meets the space requirements of the growing Lithium Polymer (LiP) market. In battery cell designs, the MHP-TAM series utilizes the PPTC to act as a heater and to keep the bimetal latched until the fault is removed. Littelfuse's Metal Hybrid PPTC Devices with Thermal Activation (MHP-TAM) Series consists of ultra-low profile (L: 5.8mm x W: 3.75mm x H: 1.15mm), resettable thermal cut-off (TCO) devices designed for overtemperature protection of high-capacity lithium polymer (LiP) and prismatic cells used in ultra-thin portable electronics. This series offers a 9VDC rating, high and low current types, and multiple cut-off temperature ratings.
