AS3490 LED Backlight Driver

ams AS3490 LED Backlight Driver is an inductive 2MHz DC/DC boost converter that generates output for three current sources connected to up to 6 LEDs. The AS3490 driver has an LED current output ripple of <500µA to avoid acoustic noise on the output capacitor. The driver guarantees predictable start up even under low duty cycle PWM conditions. The AS3490 driver features a small 4.7µH external coil, 86% system efficiency, and supports dynamic luminance scaling (DLS) or DBC. Backlight driver applications include mobile phones, digital cameras, portable media players (PMP), and portable navigation devices (PND).

IS32LT3175N/P Single-Channel Linear LED Drivers

ISSI IS32LT3175N/P Single-Channel Linear LED Drivers come with fade in/out and PWM dimming. The regulators serve as a stand-alone LED driver-configurable from 20mA to 150mA with external resistors, no microcontroller is necessary. A logic level “courtesy light” signal from the PWM pin can be interfaced to precisely drive the LED channel. The IS32LT3175P obtains a positive polarity PWM signal. In addition, the IS32LT3175N obtains a negative polarity PWM signal. The regulator integrates a 63-step fade-in and fades out the algorithm (Gamma correction). This causes the output LED current to increasingly rise up to the full source value after the EN pin is pulsed.

These LEDs combine pleasant white light with a much longer lifetime of up to 50,000 hours. OSRAM Mini TOPLED® LEDs are among the most economical on the market, consuming only 0.1W. From an operating current of 20mA, the Mini Topled achieves a typical luminous intensity of 1700mcd at a color temperature of 4000K, and 1900mcd at 6500K. Luminous intensity in candela corresponds to luminous flux in lumen emitted by a light source in a particular solid angle.
