Are you a developer, designer, or innovator looking for project ideas, or do you just want to stay up to date on the latest technologies?
My passion is helping you make that connection. Starting Jan. 2, I’ll be authoring the New Tech Tuesdays feature on Mouser Electronics’ Bench Talk for Design Engineers blog.
In this weekly feature, I’ll curate Mouser’s deep inventory of new products and the latest technologies to highlight solutions that could help you complete new projects. I’ll go beyond the datasheet and take a deeper dive into parts applications. But I’ll also make it a quick read because … well, you have projects to design.
About myself: I’m the senior technical content specialist at Mouser Electronics. I joined the company in 2018 after a four-decade career as a US journalist. In one stint, I covered Silicon Valley in its early 2000s heyday, writing about new technologies and digital innovations while at the San Francisco Chronicle. I also authored a technology column that was distributed through New York Times News Service and published in several national publications.
As an example of what’s ahead: I’ll look into how the popularity of electric vehicles (EVs) has opened the door for smart device developments, including sensor requirements. Specifically, EVs must develop sensors to help alert pedestrians who might not see or hear quiet-moving vehicles. We’ll take a look at how a set of development boards work together to create alert-system sensors.
The pandemic is prompting the world to increase development of methods of disinfection and sanitization. What ultraviolet sterilization products can be developed to keep pace with global demand? We have solutions.
Today’s audio systems can be plug and play and integrate with analog products. What types of modules are available out there to build that perfect system? We review the options.
We’ll also look into developing power charger solutions for smart devices. We know that Apple does not include a charger in its latest iPhone 12 release. What’s that mean for the numerous and increasing number of USB Type-C connector systems? What do we have that will help you design a solution?
This is also an audience engagement proposition. I look forward to your feedback and welcome suggestions and topics you’d like to see covered in this space. Drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org.
