Lithium Ion Battery Formation & Test Solutions

Analog Devices Inc. Lithium Ion Battery Formation and Test Solutions offer a small, environmental-friendly system for testing and forming rechargeable battery cells and packs. The offering uses a PWM controller to provide charging energy. With these solutions from Analog Devices, designers can direct discharging energy to other cells or send the energy back to the grid to minimize energy usage.

AD8450 Precision Analog Front End & Controllers

Analog Devices Inc. AD8450 Precision Analog Front End & Controllers are ideal for testing and monitoring battery cells. The precision programmable gain instrumentation amplifier (PGIA) measures the battery charge / discharge current while a programmable gain difference amplifier (PGDA) measures the battery voltage. Internal laser trimmed resistor networks set the gains for the PGIA and the PGDA, optimizing the performance of the AD8450 over the rated temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. PGIA gains are 26, 66, 133, and 200. PGDA gains are 0.2, 0.27, 0.4, and 0.8. ADI AD8450 includes resistor programmable overvoltage and overcurrent detection and current sharing circuitry. Current sharing is used to balance charge among multiple batteries.

Power Management ICs

Analog Devices Inc. Power Management ICs (PMICs) power innovation with precision and efficiency. With unmatched power densities, ultra-low noise technology, and superior reliability, Analog Devices’ PMIC portfolio supports complex power architectures in the most demanding applications, including industrial, automotive, and aerospace. Electronics engineers and designers are supported with power management evaluation boards and design tools, such as LTspice®, to ease development and optimize performance. From Silent Switcher® regulators and µModule® power solutions to advanced battery management, LDOs, and digital power control, ADI delivers high-efficiency, low-noise, and compact solutions that ensure reliability and scalability.
