NXP Semiconductors MC33774A Li-Ion Battery Cell Controller ICs
NXP Semiconductors MC33774A Li-Ion Battery Controller ICs include an independent internal architecture that achieves ASIL D functional safety targets at cell voltage and temperature measurements. These ICs support busbar monitoring with an input voltage as low as -3V. The MC33774A 18-channel ICs are qualified for less than 1.5 mV of voltage measurement error over the full temperature and cell voltage range. These ICs control passive cell balancing with up to 360mA current per channel and up to 125°C ambient temperature. The MC33774A 18-channel ICs allow maximizing asset utilization (such as ESS and EV Fleet) via fast real-time balancing.
The MC33774A 18-channel ICs feature an I2C interface to control external devices like EEPROMs, and up to 62 devices can be daisy-chained via the isolated ETPL bus. Typical applications include battery management systems (BMS), high-voltage battery management systems, energy storage systems, E-bikes, and E-scooters.
