Analog Devices AD-GMSL2ETH-SL Edge Compute Platform, Now Available at Mouser, Supports Machine Vision in Autonomous Robots and Vehicles

(ADI). The advanced single-board computer (SBC) enables low-latency data transfer from eight Gigabit Multimedia Serial LinkTM (GMSL) interfaces to a 10Gb Ethernet link. The AD-GMSL2ETH-SL is designed for machine vision and real-time sensor fusion in applications, including autonomous robots and vehicles.
The ADI AD-GMSL2ETH-SL, now available at Mouser, features two MAX96724 Quad Tunneling GMSL2/1 to CSI-2 deserializers, enabling connectivity with eight GMSL cameras. Each camera supports up to 6 Gbps per channel. Video data is transferred from the MAX96724 deserializers to an AMD KV26 System on Module (SOM) via MIPI CSI2 interfaces. The SOM aggregates video data from all eight GMSL cameras into a 10Gb Ethernet link, ready to be sent to a central processing unit.
The AD-GMSL2ETH-SL supports IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) with hardware timestamping for accurate synchronization with host systems and other edge devices, while a web-based user interface is available for system configuration and control. This user interface allows users to adjust parameters for camera control and trigger PTP synchronization, general-purpose I/O (GPIO) configuration, and visualize system diagnostics. The edge compute platform also features an embedded graphic user interface (GUI) for easy integration, an ideal feature for complex systems such as robotics. The platform is accompanied by an open-source software stack, FPGA design, and reference applications, allowing designers to quickly begin software development based on a proven implementation. The AD-GMSL2ETH-SL edge compute platform is ROS2 compliant.
