NXP Semiconductors FRDM-MCXW72 MCU Development Board

NXP Semiconductors FRDM-MCXW72 MCU Development Board provides a compact, scalable, and cost-effective platform for rapid prototyping and evaluation of the MCX W72 wireless MCU. The board supports BLUETOOTH® Low Energy, Bluetooth Channel Sounding, Zigbee®, Thread®, and Matter®, making it suitable for smart home, building automation, industrial IoT, secure access, and location-aware applications.

The FRDM-MCXW72 provides an accessible starting point for Bluetooth Channel Sounding evaluation, thanks to its integrated single-PCB-trace antenna. For more advanced evaluation, the MCXW72-LOC Localization Board adds a second antenna and antenna switching to support antenna diversity. These are separate evaluation options, allowing developers to select the platform that fits the user's development needs.

The FRDM-MCXW72 also includes an onboard MCU-Link debugger, industry-standard expansion headers, CAN-FD support, external SPI flash, an accelerometer, and a light sensor. The board is supported by Zephyr™ RTOS and the MCUXpresso Developer Experience, enabling open-source and NXP-provided development workflows.
